I discovered a lot of new stuff during the university visit to the Pinewood Studios. Since being a VFX compositor is my career objective, postproduction, entering the industry, and gaining experience in that field are topics that intrigued me more. I spoke with a Jedi Academy employee about the paid internship program (which they were offering) and opportunities to work at ILM studio during the trip. I ask the person all of my questions, such as where to begin, the skills needed, the studio pipeline, the software they use, and whether they consider a fresher's showreel when making a recruiting decision, etc. He advised starting out as a roto artist and working there for about a year or two before moving on to become a Bg prep or cleanup artist and finally a junior compositor. They use Foundry's Nuke program in the studio. The most crucial component was a strong showreel that lasted no longer than two minutes and included elements like proper lighting, material, staging/placing, and shot composition. Along with your academic tasks, you must complete extra projects. Utilize social media platforms wisely to build your portfolios, such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and Art Station. Additionally, it is advantageous to be familiar with maya, Houdini, Unreal Engine, and scripting languages like Python.
